Grants will be awarded to initiatives that promote housing stability and address social determinants of health. Areas for funding may include but are not limited to economic stability and mobility; education access; health and wellness; neighborhood and environmental needs; and the building of social and community networks.

Current Opportunities

Housing Stability Inclusion and Leadership Mini Grants: Up to $2,500 awarded on a rolling basis so long as funding is available.

Housing Stability Inclusion and Leadership Mini Grants aim to support resident centered initiatives that promote inclusivity and build capacity for resident leadership across the MassHousing portfolio. The Housing Stability Department recognizes that communities may be at various stages along a continuum of resident engagement. These grants are intended to be a tool to support a range of resident centered practices and leadership models.

Applications and eligibility requirements are available on the MassHousing Rental Business Portal. Only MassHousing-financed properties have access to the portal and a password is required. Please email housingstabilitygrants@masshousing.com if you have questions about accessing the application.

Resident Engagement Programs

Engaging programs support healthy housing communities

Multifamily developments enrolled in TAP, MassHousing's Tenant Assistance Program, can access diverse programs and workshops that engage residents and site staff in creating and maintaining healthy housing communities.

Sites select and schedule programs from the categories of arts & culture, education and wellness. The number of allotted programs for TAP member sites is based on the number of apartments at the site.

The program began in 1991 and is currently paused as we gather community input and explore needs and opportunities for moving forward.
